Michael deeply believes that the development of new economy businesses like tech is the key to the continued growth of San Antonio.

Michael has co-founded several tech-related companies and nonprofits, Codeup, Geekdom Fund, Alamo Angels, RealCo, and Dura Software. All of these businesses aim to bolster the tech ecosystem in San Antonio and beyond by either providing capital for startup founders or cultivating new tech talent.

Michael co-founded RealCo, a business that accelerates B2B software startups via investment and mentorship. Before diving headfirst into the San Antonio tech scene, Michael was CEO of Alamo Fireworks, the largest retailer of consumer fireworks in Texas. Academically speaking, Michael’s background is rooted in technology. After earning his BS degree in Computer Science at Lafayette College (and participating in Division I swimming for 4 years), Michael lived and worked in San Francisco. He held engineering and marketing roles at RSA Security and BEA WebLogic, where, at age 25, he was the lead product manager for a product with $300mm in annual revenue.
